What does the Travel Rating Index mean?

The Travelindex Rating is on a 100-point scale, made up of ratings aggregated from a proprietary 3-tier ratings, reviews and certification algorithm analyzed and evaluated by travel experts (100 is the highest rating on the scale and 1 is the lowest). The rating at and from all network sites is integrated into our AI (Artificial Intelligence) calculated “Travel Rating Index” and “Hotel Rating Index”.

How long does it take for the listing to get updated after a modification request?

Travelindex is a trusted source of information and 100% human edited. All changes of information are verified by our editorial team. Due to the high number of requests it can take several days before the updates are visible online.

How can I register to add a new company or the edit my current listing?

If you are already a registered User, just login under ‘Login/Join us’ and then click on ‘Add a Link’ or ‘Modify a Link’ in the top navigation bar; you will be able to edit all information related to your listing(s). If you are not a User yet, click on ‘Login’ or ‘Join us’ and fill-in the simple registration form to create your user profile. Upon successful completion of this form, you will receive a confirmation email from that contains your username, password, and other important information enabling you to manage all aspects of your appearance on modify all information related to your listing(s); add more listings, publish news and/or offers, publish videos linked to your listings and so much more. Is it possible to delete a listing at Travelindex?

Yes, please contact our support team with full details, inclusive the webpage link of the listing you wish to request deletion.

Our support team will confirm with you or third party sources that you have the authority to request such a deletion.

Travelindex reserve all rights to refuse any request of deletion if we estimate that the request was done in bad faith.

I get to many search results, how can I get a refined search results list?

Click on Advanced Search, which takes you to the advanced search page where you can search any field available or by any combination of these search fields to create a list of companies by location, activity, category or description, city, featured, exhibiting, etc.

How can I login or register? Why should I logout?

You will not be prompted for your user name and password until you enter an area reserved for registered users. You can login at any time by using the ‘Login’ link located in the top navigation bar of every page. You should also ‘Logout’ after each session. The ‘Logout’ link is located in the same top navigation bar of each page. Attempts to login more than once per hour without properly logging out will lead to a temporary suspension of your login.

My Company is listed at Travelindex, how can I update the information?

If your company is already listed at, there are a few easy steps allowing you to edit and update any and all information published on our site.

Please note; updating of information is free but as our team of editors has to approve all updates. The review process can take several days and the updated information will only appear online once approved.

Step 1: Register as user at; click on “Join Us” and fill the form.

Step 2: Check your email inbox and confirm your email address by clicking on the link in email message.

Step 3: Claim your listing by clicking on the link at the bottom left corner of your company profile page.

Step 4: Our team will verify your claim and approve if genuine.

Step 5: Login at and navigate to your listing.

Step 6: At the bottom of your profile page you have now an icon “Manage Your Listing”, click on it.

Step 7: Here you can now edit and update all and any information about your business.

Step 8: When done…click “Modify Link”.

Step 9: Your update request has now been submitted and our editorial team will review and approve it.

How I can get my business listed in different categories?

Free listings are limited to one category.

Travelindex Members can list in multiple categories; depending on the Membership level, in 1 to 3 additional categories.

How are your search results ordered; is it alphabetical or just random?

The listing order on our search result pages are listed by our proprietary algorithm, similar to search results on Google.

Our members get top positions in searched categories as well as in search results pages for searched keywords.

Are your listings free?

Yes, all our listings are unconditionally FREE. Just register, add your business and if your listing meets our requirements, we will approve it within a reasonably short time (usually within 48 hours). We do not accept paid listings.

How long will my listing remain on

There is no time limit but we however request that you update your information at least twice a year. We will send you a reminder email asking you to update or confirm the validity of your information published on

I am the administrator for a hotel group or chain. How can I add or update the information for all listings of our group/chain?

Login to with your username and password. By clicking on Modify a Link in the top navigation bar, you will be shown a list of all registered listings under your user name. By clicking on ‘Edit this listing’ situated in the bottom bar of each listing you will access the listing profile with all fields. You can now edit these information. Submit the form. Note: all changes will be submitted to the administrator for review and approval. By clicking on ‘Add a Business’ in the top navigation bar you can add ALL properties of your group/chain, for FREE.

How can I contact a specific company or senior executive?

For each company (if available) you will find full contact details (telephone, fax, physical address, postal address, skype, instant messaging, etc) and, a link ‘Email direct’ which allows you to contact via email and our online form, the business listed in our database.

How often is your information updated?

The information in our database is update daily by our team of researchers and editors and, online by our users. The information contained in our database is as accurate as we could reasonably make it. In many cases we have relied on third-party information that we believe to be trustworthy but were, sometimes, unable to verify independently.

My business is not in the travel business but I would like to be listed in your valuable content network. is human-edited and you cannot buy a listing on it. All our links are free but each request will be assessed, and only those that meet our criteria and standards will be activated. Can you explain with a little more detail what are your criteria and standards to be listed in your Directory ?

Our criteria to be listed on is very simple: you have to be a genuine business (hotel, tour operator, travel agency, car hire, etc) in the travel and tourism sector with a physical address and contact.

We REFUSE to list all the websites using, and abusing, the terms: travel or tourism website, official website, travel guide or tourism portal when in fact they are just a collection of links to parked pages, affiliate companies links, Google AdSense links, booking engines, etc.

We believe that these websites are in fact cloaking the search results of Google, Yahoo, MSN and hindering genuine travel operators to be found easily. The genuine operators must compete for traffic with these sham websites called AdSense traps, sportals, splogs, and flogs, which divert users to irrelevant and no-content sites.

As we advocate direct-link to genuine operators we would like to see on the websites of approved listings a ‘Contact Us’ page with ALL contact details of the company including telephone and email address. If a visitor is taking time to read about your business, make it easy for him to contact you or better to book with you.
