Board Members Networking Reception at Commons Caf\u00e9, Old Court House Kuching, held the night before <strong>PATA Travel Mart 2026<\/strong> in Sarawak, Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Best Newcomer Award<\/strong> was presented to the <strong>PATA Hong Kong Metropolitan University Student Chapter<\/strong>, recognising a Student Chapter in its early stages that has made an impressive impact from the very beginning.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Outstanding Industry Engagement Award<\/strong> was presented to the <strong>PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter<\/strong>, recognising its excellence in industry engagement and its efforts to help prepare students for careers in travel and tourism.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Best Engagement with Young Tourism Professionals Award<\/strong> was presented jointly to the <strong>PATA Malaysia Chapter <\/strong>and<strong> PATA Thailand Chapter<\/strong>, recognising their support for local young tourism professionals and tourism institution activities.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Best Sustainability Initiative Award<\/strong> was presented to the <strong>PATA Thailand Mae Fah Luang University Student Chapter<\/strong>, recognising its activities supporting sustainability, social responsibility, the environment and the responsible development of tourism.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Award of Excellence<\/strong>, recognising Chapters and Student Chapters whose activities best exemplify dedication to the development of the travel and tourism industry within the Pacific Asia region, was presented to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PATA Malaysia Chapter<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>PATA Nepal Chapter PATA<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Malaysia Taylor\u2019s Student Chapter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Spirit of PATA Award<\/strong>, recognising a Chapter that consistently and progressively demonstrates its commitment to, and best embodies, the aims and objectives of PATA over the past five years, was presented to the <strong>PATA India Chapter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the annual awards, PATA presented<strong> Special Recognition<\/strong> to Chapters and Student Chapters whose dedication and continued support have strengthened the Association over the years, as part of the celebration of PATA\u2019s 75th Anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The Special Recognition recipients were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PATA Chinese Taipei Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Denmark Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Finland Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA France Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA German Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Hong Kong Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Macau Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Maldives Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Micronesia Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA New York Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Philippines Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Singapore Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA UK &amp; Ireland Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Hong Kong School of Hotel &amp; Tourism Management (SHTM) Student Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA India Christ University Student Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Japan Wakayama University (WU) Student Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter<\/li>\n<li>PATA UAE Higher Colleges of Technology Student Chapter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cPATA\u2019s Chapters and Student Chapters are at the heart of our global community, creating opportunities for connection, learning, leadership and collaboration at the local level,\u201d said PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid. \u201cThese awards recognise the important work being undertaken by our Chapters and Student Chapters and the commitment of their members to strengthening the tourism industry across the Pacific Asia region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cI congratulate all of this year\u2019s award recipients and thank every Chapter and Student Chapter for their continued contribution to PATA.
