{"id":1481,"date":"2020-09-03T03:23:22","date_gmt":"2020-09-03T03:23:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travelcommunication.net\/?p=26242"},"modified":"2020-10-04T21:28:30","modified_gmt":"2020-10-04T21:28:30","slug":"new-motorway-opens-more-tourism-destinations-in-thailands-eastern-corridor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelindex.org\/media\/global-travel-news\/new-motorway-opens-more-tourism-destinations-in-thailands-eastern-corridor\/","title":{"rendered":"New Motorway Opens More Tourism Destinations in Thailand\u2019s Eastern Corridor"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/travelcommunication.net\/destinations\/asia\/thailand\/new-motorway-opens-more-tourism-destinations-in-thailands-eastern-corridor\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"New Motorway Opens More Tourism Destinations in Thailands Eastern Corridor-TRAVELINDEX\" src=\"https:\/\/travelcommunication.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/New-Motorway-Opens-More-Tourism-Destinations-in-Thailands-Eastern-Corridor-TRAVELINDEX-500x277.jpg\" alt=\"New Motorway Opens More Tourism Destinations in Thailand&#8217;s Eastern Corridor\" width=\"500\" height=\"277\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/a>\n\t<\/div>\n<p>Bangkok, Thailand, September 3, 2020 \/ TRAVELINDEX \/ A 32-kilometre motorway opening in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitthailand.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thailand\u2019s<\/a> rapidly developing Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) will significantly enhance access to a broad range of new destinations, sites, and attractions in the coastal provinces of Chon Buri, Chachoengsao, and Rayong.<\/p>\n<p>The motorway will also facilitate connections between Bangkok\u2019s main aviation hub of Suvarnabhumi Airport and the airport\/seaport of U-tapao in Rayong province, and enable visitors to make cross-border trips to neighbouring Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Thai Government has identified tourism as one of the four core areas that will help transform the EEC into the leading economic zone in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The route starts at the Map Prachan Intersection between Chonburi \u2013 Pattaya, passing the Bang Lamung District and Sattahip District, Chonburi province, ending at the intersection with Highway 3, Ban Chang District, Rayong province.<\/p>\n<p>Located on the northern rim of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.touristthailand.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gulf of Thailand<\/a>, the provinces of Chon Buri, Rayong and Chachoengsao are rich in tourism, which TAT plans to extend, improve and promote, according to their different characteristics, such as:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChachoengsao: Thai Way of Life\u201d due to its strengths in lifestyle, culture and agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChon Buri: Modern of the East\u201d because it is modern combined with localness. Pattaya is 1 of 5 MICE cities in Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRayong: BIZ City\u201d This is an industrial estate area and has a lot of business activities.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said, \u201cThe EEC is a diverse region and offers a huge range of attractions to tourists and visitors.
